Close to Handan City in Heibei Province, the Huangliangmeng Lüxian Temple is a famous Taoist building in China. It was first established in the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and every following dynasty once rebuilt and expanded it. The extant buildings of the temple, a set of grandiose and well preserved complex, cover an area of 13,000 square meters.

The main buildings of the Lüxian Temple include the Zhongli Hall, the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, the Lüzu Hall, the Dongwangmu Hall and the Xiwanggong Hall. In addition, the temple also includes the Lusheng Hall that records the story of Lü Dongbin. It is said that Lü Dongbin guided an intellectual who surnamed as Lu to understand the life in the dream. After he woke up, the intellectual decided to cultivate himself according to the Taoist doctrines. There is a sleeping statue of the intellectual, the statue of the bed and the fresco on the wall in the hall, representing the artistic conception that the intellectual slept on a pillow and had a dream. The Huangliangmeng Lüxian Temple has become a key cultural relics site under the special protection of the Hebei provincial government.
