Science and Technology Progress Award

　　The state-level of Science and Technology Progress Award is mainly granted to the following four kinds of achievements:

　　First, the new scientific and technological achievements that can be applied in socialist modernization and have been proved of great economic and social benefits;

　　Second, those who have made creative contributions in the promotion, transfer and application of the existing science and technology, and have realized important economic and social benefits.

　　Third, scientific and technological achievements that have made creative contribution to and realized important economic and social benefits in the key projects or facility research and enterprise technology transformation.

　　Fourth, achievements that have made creative contribution to and achieved remarkable benefits in the work of scientific management and measurement, computation and scientific technology information collecting.

　　Science and Technology Progress Award was launched in 1985. Besides the certificate and medal, the award also includes bonus. Projects that have made special contribution can be granted Special Award after approval from the State Council.

　　In terms of the level, Science and Technology Progress Award can be grouped into the state level and provincial level. Only projects that have won the provincial-level awards can apply for the state ones. What's more, projects that have applied for Science and Technology Progress Award cannot apply for other science and technology awards at the same time.
