　　The Wa people show much originality in prescribing medicine. Chinese herbs for curing rheumatism and injuries are prescribed to cure stomatitis by the Wa people. Rabdosia lophanthoides Hara is used for curing gastroenteritis, but the Wa people take it for stopping phthisical bleeding.

　　In addition, some species that are not taken by other nationalities are employed by the Wa doctors to cure some common diseases and often have certain curative effect. The Awa Mountain is rich in medical herbs, but most of the medical herbs still require further research and exploitation.
