Guqin, a seven-stringed zither with thirteen marked pitch positions, is China's oldest stringed instrument with a history of some 3,000 years. It is a long and narrow sound box made of wood, usually 130 centimeters long, 20 centimeters wide, and 5 centimeters thick.
