
China Broadcasting Orchestra, a big national symphony Orchestra, is officially established on the basis of consolidating the Former China Broadcasting Orchestra (founded in 1953), and the Former Chinese Orchestra of China Film Philharmonic Orchestra (founded in 1949). The Orchestra is affiliated to China Broadcasting Performing-Arts Group, which is composed of 5 Orchestras: China Film Symphony Orchestra, China Broadcasting Shuochang (Comic) Arts Troupe, China Broadcasting Chorus, China Broadcasting Electronic-Music (and Vocal Music) Band, China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra. There are 96 performers in the consolidated Orchestra, equipped with comprehensive and excellent musical instruments . Every performer, who obtains their qualification and seat with rigorous test after graduating from key conservatories, is skillful, youthful and energetic. The Orchestra is among the first rank in recent years both at home and abroad.
Both the Former China Broadcasting Orchestra, and the Former Chinese
Orchestra of China Philharmonic Orchestra are the Orchestras at national level
with long history, brilliant achievement and influence. With the efforts and
endeavor of famous conductor and composer, Mr. Peng Xiuwen, the Former China
Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra radicates the framework based on bow and string
instrument, plucked instrument, wind instrument and percussion instrument. Mr.
Peng Xiuwen almost spent all his life in the development and improvement of the
Orchestra. Together with other composers, Mr. Peng Xiuwen has written almost
1000 works, making great contribution for national music Symphonization. Now
this framework is wildly referred or copied by many domestic and foreign Art
groups.
