Liu Jianhua: Regular Fragile

  Regular Fragile by Liu Jianhua is a large sculpture installation work. This work was once exhibited in the 50th La Biennale di Venezia Chinese Pavilion. It is a work elaborately designed by the artist with unique characteristics. He made many white daily necessities with china. In the exhibition hall, there is a pillow-shaped sculpting suspending in the middle and some daily necessities sculpting placing on the three surrounding walls. These sculptures create an atmosphere of intimate bedrooms and associate us with dream just like a home. And its china texture together with other works formed a harmony scene. The work also show the Chinese or oriental tradition and tells us that we should be careful when choosing daily necessities. Besides, it endowed china with more spiritual meanings. The entire spatial and abstract sense is strengthened with silk serving as its foil. It is easy to imagine this kind of purity and tranquility. This set of sculptures goes well with other works. In the process of making the work exhibition he paid great attention. In the Guangdong Gallery he arranged them like china shop, while in the Central Academy of Fine Arts Gallery he arranged the sculptures like a map of Venice relating to the Venice Biennale so that audience can walk through freely and appreciate the china artistic space elaborately designed by artists.
