2007 marks the Year of China in Russia. To celebrate the occasion, a group of reporters from the two countries set out on a journey of friendship and discovery across China. On Monday, journalists arrived at Kaili City of southwest China's Guizhou Province, and were overwhelmed by the exotic sounds and colors of the Miao ethnic group.
The team of reporters was warmly welcomed by ethnic song and dance performed by local people - dressed in traditional attire, with no detail overlooked.

Xinhua News Agency journalist Cao Ding recognized the sense of occasion - documenting the experience, and reflecting on his surroundings.
Cao Ding, journalist from Xinhua News Agency, said, "I think the biggest advantage of Guizhou is the combination of its natural sources and its tourism."
The month-long Sino-Russian Friendship Tour kicked off at Tiananmen Square in Beijing last month. It aims to tighten and deepen the mutual understanding and friendship of the neighboring countries, through cultural means.
