China celebrates 10th anniversary of HK's return

The fireworks cost 16 million HK dollars. It's the the biggest show ever since Hong Kong's return to China and the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR on July 1st, 1997.

　　Meanwhile in the city of Shenzhen, about ten thousand young people from Shenzhen and Hong Kong joined together for a big party.

　　Participants included five-thousand Shenzhen-based university students and about five thousand Hong Kong youths. They represented more than one hundred organizations and communities.

　　With performances by dozens of famous singers and dancers from the two communities, the gala unfolded on a live broadcast by China Central Television and local stations in Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
